Hello members,

I am on PGWP in Canada and want to apply for my spouse's visit visa. I know showing home ties are so crucial to get the TRV but she doesn’t have too strong ties with the country i.e no job, no property, no kids. I don't want to apply for SOWP as my PGWP will be expiring soon. Can you experts please suggest me a few doable ideas that i can possibly do in order to show strong ties to the home country? I know one of them is to get her admission in some diploma back home, do you have any other suggestions?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your time.

Home ties can be
1. A business back home
2. being primary caregiver for family members
3. Ongoing employment

Even if you get her an admission in a college, she will need to finish some courses and get academic approval to travel etc

Good Luck

Thank you ! I was thinking of getting her the admission in a virtual university and apply for her visa after? Would that not consider a tie too since she will have to come back for it or would it be suspicious?
Also, do i need to get an academic approval letter for travel too?

A virtual university is not a tie as the program can be taken anywhere. Should be an in-person program that requies attendance with tuition paid, registered and program timetable.

Yeah there will be in-person exams. I will have the proof for paid tuition and there would be a study schedule. Its not a self-paced degree like Udemy or some online universities in Europe

As long as it is a reputable school. Given it is online, whether it is a tie will only be known once she applies for TRV. If that is her only tie then that is not much given her family ties (you) are in Canada and she doesn’t have job, home, investments, business etc. Also IRCC isn’t stupid and will see that she just started a virtual program and then applied for a TRV to create ties.

I agree to the above
Enrolling in something like Udemy is pretty much pointless

If the course is virtual I would consider it the weakest tie and the timeline will make it beyond obvious of your intention to come on a TRV and overstay and eventually use it as a backdoor.

Thank you! I know it could raise suspicions but thats one thing i can do to show some ties at least. Do you have any other suggestions to show ties?

She also has her family here. Can i attach the old Family Registration Certificate to prove it ? The Family Registration Certificate got updated after marriage including only me and her.
Also, what if we buy a small property now and apply. Is it suspicious too ?

Her family is not a tie. You are her family tie. Buying a property is very suspicious.

Why does she need a gift deed? How does that prove ties? A sudden “dump” of funds is a red flag and officers will want to know why she needed the funds. Do not try and “make up” ties that don’t exist. IRCC has seen every trick.

I know someone who deposited $60K US in his girlfriend's home country bank account. Over a one year period she was refused a tourist visa 6 times.

Ok! Do i need to write a letter of invitation for my spouse to support her SOWP application? Most of them i found online are for visit visa. Any samples available for SOWP invitation letter?

If you are in Canada for a TRV, yes. SOWP is for a person coming to live, not visit so invitation not required.
