My husband applied for visitor visa on Nov 27 on the new portal but it didn't ask him to pay for biometrics. Once he found out he paid for it on Dec 22 and submitted it via webform. He got the confirmation on Jan 4th. I sent a webform on Jan 17 to ask them to send the biometrics request but he still hasn't heard yet. Is it better if he withdraws and reapply or wait? I saw the memo released by the globe and mail, his new application might not be part of backlog that they will try to reduce. Any ideas? Thank you

Your choice. What is your status? Are you PR? If so, why haven’t you started the sponsorship process. For TRV, he has to show ties to home country, travel history, and funds. So he needs to show that he will return and not file for inland sponsorship when he arrives in Canada. If you are PR, it lowers his changes for a TRV.

Thank you for your quick response. I am a Canadian citizen and he is only coming for a short visit. He has a full time job, letter from employer, rental agreement for 3 years, bank statements with enough funds for a 2 week visit and my application for spouse visa for UK which is being processed. Just worried that he didn't submit biometrics at the same time as his application. It has been over a month and he still hasn't received the biometrics request.
