Visitor visa to canada

I am Indian citizen. I am holding USA green card which is expiring in 2026. Since last THREE YEARS I have not visited USA. Legally speaking my green card is INVALID as I have remained out of USA for more than 365 days. I HAVE NOT SURRENDERED MY GREEN CARD.

My son is Canadian citizen staying in Canada for last 10 years. I want to visit him TO ATTEND BABY SHOWER CEREMONY OF HIS CANADIAN CITIZEN WIFE.

I want to apply for visitor visa of Canada. But when I mentioned that I am holding US green card, the software says that “ NEED NO VISA TO VISIT CANADA “ and do not allow me to go ahead to complete the visa application.

Please guide me as how can I apply for VISITOR VISA APPLICATION.
I am sure Your expert advise will certainly help me in this matter.

Your green card isn’t valid since you haven’t met the residency obligations so apply as if you don’t have a green card.

Thanks for the early reply.
While applying for visa I.e. preparing the profile, the software ask for the country visited and the basis of it. I mention as visited USA on green card, a message is flashed that NO NEED OF VISA TO VISIT CANADA BEING USA GREEN CARD HOLDER. How can I go further to complete the application ? I want to mention that my green card is INVALID but there is no space or column to mention it. Can you guide me, as where I should mention it? Your reply is awaited
