A weird thing happened today..
I received Portal2 this afternoon, but today is Saturday...so, it makes me wonder:
a. there are some degrees of automation involved in the process of issuing Portal2, like a time fuze, scheduled delivery?
b. finally I hit upon by a real hardworking lord?
c. the office is not on planet earth? or in a different spacetime/dimension/whatever

congrats- it seems like someone might be working weekends :) it's good to know they are up to Jan 6th in Calgary with Portal 1 emails. I'm hoping that means my tech support question I sent them with them sending portal 2 email but not giving me login credentials might be answered in the next few days - that is unless it is automated.

When did you respond for your email portal 1?

thx. wish you can get out of this institutional purgatory soon as well.
I saw another guy(s?) in this forum whose portal1 was Jan5 and Portal2 was Jan13-ish, and the same applies to earlier applications..so it seems 7 days to portal2 is quite common. Tho for the eCoPR, they still have backlogs from mid~end Oct until Fri which I believe was due to an intentional halt of operation(issuing eCoPR and freeing the slaves letting go of ppl) in the last few months of last year for some reason.. it may or may not keep us waiting for another 3 mo to clear the backlog...we'll see

i was so happy to get the portal 2 email on jan 6th, and then when i realized they hadn't sent me login credentials my heart sank to be honest- in the grand scheme of things my PR process has been smoother and quicker than a lot of peoples but getting an issue at the last stage of the process has had a real bad impact on my mental health anxiety wise. Waiting a couple of months for CoPR I'm fine with- but not being able to access the portal to upload the stuff to get it on the other hand has felt pretty shitty.

I just wish we are paying customers were treated with more respect by IRCC. It doesn't help at this stage of the process that my representatives hands are fairly tied when it comes to getting things moving. For all I know the emails I've send requesting "technical support" may have just gone into an email trash bin.

I will give kudos to the customer service rep at the IRCC call center who tried to help me out last week - they can't really do anything themselves but sent an email to Calgary themselves trying to push them to speed up sorting out the issue. Whether it will make a difference or not is a different matter.

completely understand. I was depressed as f when I learned all the glitches and sh*t happening to us, the guinea pigs who were the first batch of users of the laughable online paper PNP applicants, to get the AOR. I was "lucky" enough to get it after 13.5 mo with an expiring work permit and needed the FN to apply for the BOWP. My feeling is that socialism has arrived here, too.

oof, on your whole process.

my current predicament actually stems back to issues with the PR Portal back in mid 2021. My rep asked for an email address to set up to portal- we got a temp password it didn't work my rep felt that it wouldn't be worth dealing with IRCC customer service so we set up a PR portal account using a different email address to submit my application. I communicate with the rep using the email address which we couldn't properly setup up the original portal- so when I did my Portal 1 email I used that email address - and I think IRCC think that the PR Portal account using that email address exists and that I therefore must have credentials to login. But because we could never login the first time we never activated it. AND because we never logged in for the first time using a temp password we therefore can't reset the password for it. You'd think that when the VO is dealing with the portal 1 details setting everything up that it would

a) check that the account exists AND
b) check that the account was logged into for the first time and a password changed. If it hasn't resend out credentials with a temporary password.

I've actually asked in my emails to them if a) they can send out new login credentials and b) as a fallback ,if they can't transfer the whole COPR process to the PR Portal my reps submitted my application with. I FEEL that the portal 1/2 stuff should be handled directly in the portal rather than via email for online applicants- but I can understand why it isn't.

One thing that does seem to be an issue with the PR Portal process is the complete disconnect between the application and how it's processed. As far as I'm aware if you view applications even if it has been approved it still says "submitted"

Anyway I probably should stop ranting/ruminating over something I don't have much control over at the moment.

I haven’t heard anything else since Medical Passed on Dec 5, 2022. Do you know if I have received any P1 or P2 or ECOPR? What do you all think?
You're like the 20th person I have seen that has applied in March and gone through the process in similar timeframes (with security check pending). Just wait portal 1 will come soon.

My deepest sympathy. Yeah if it was not for these stone-age IT glitches, lots of problems and heartbreaking days & nights could be avoided. Also if there is a better communication system. But now after all this mess I realized, hey, "it's Canada"┑( ̄Д ̄)┍‍.
BTW my portal2 was like yours, just "New Case Created Under Your Acount" instead of credentials. But my ID & pw works all the way so...

Glad it's worked out for you.

I know the issue will get fixed - it's not as if its something crazy to fix - as with most IRCC stuff it's the waiting/poor communication service that causes most of the stress people run into. I've given IRCC two potential options to fix the issue in my emails. I totally understand how what I'm going through occurred- and I think the emails IRCC send out are often poorly worded/not particularly clear at times.

I've seen other people run into the same issue or missed their portal 2 email and credentials have expired- for them they said it took 2 weeks to 2 months to get fixed.

Today's the first day in over a week I've not felt super depressed/anxious about it- it's just a waiting game now.

woah- hasn't there been people waiting for eCOPR with Montreal as their VO since October/November? Something is fundamentally broken in how IRCC are processing applications
