On the PR renewal checklist IMM5644E form the second point is for Proof of Residency requirement if you were outside Canada 1095 days or more in last 5 years. If this does not apply to me should I leave it unchecked or still check it ? I have seen previous versions of the same form and this question was not in the include the following items with your application which makes me believe if it is mandatory to check this box but not provide any proof since its not applicable to me ?

Read this it explains it in Appendix A

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...acement-renewal-change-gender-identifier.html

This link explains what are the required documents to prove residency requirement. But the Checklist only asks for proof of residency if you were outside Canada for more than 1095 days. Since, thats not applicable to me im wondering if I should Check that box or leave it blank.

Also, I dont think I need to send any proof of Residency if I meet 730 days requirement in Canada

Exactly so you answered your own question the answer is obviously no.

Hi Harry,

am in the same boat as you. Could you let me know how was your experience and did you end up checking the box 2. I already applied mine for renewal on June 13 and when I talked to the IRCC agent, she said they have received my application but not yet reviewed it. so am confused if I need to submit anew application since I travel for work weekly in the coming 45 days.

You are NOT in the same boat as the OP.

Unlike the previous version (which was used by the OP), as of at least April 2023 the checklist for a PR card application (likewise for PR TD application) clearly requires all applicants to submit proof they meet the RO. So all applicants should check this box and submit proof. For those who were not outside Canada for more than 1095 days during the relevant five years, all they need to submit is two items showing residency in Canada. For those outside Canada more than 1095 days they should follow the instructions for the particular situation (such as "Situation A. Employment outside Canada" for a PR relying on credit for days employed outside Canada).

The second box in the checklist, in the April 2023 version stated:
[ ] Proof showing that you met the residency obligation in the past five (5) years immediately before the application. Please refer to Appendix A: Residency obligation of the instruction guide for a list of the documents required.

The second box in the checklist, current version since December 2024, states:
[ ] Proof showing that you met the residency obligation in the past five (5) years immediately before the application or since becoming a PR if it has been less than 5 years. Please refer to Appendix A: Residency obligation of the instruction guide for a list of the documents required.
