You need to apply for a new study permit if you want to switch programs to the master's without first completing a semester with your original school. The options are to either complete a semester with your first school and then switch over to the master's - this means you won't need to get a new study permit however you will need to defer the start of your master's. The other option is to get a new study permit for January for your master's program which you may be short on time to do.

can i take authorised gap of less than 150 days .

I don't understand.

If you want to do the master's program without completing one semester of studies under the diploma, then you need a new study permit.

Would add that you can’t work until you start studying full-time. Agree that you need to apply for a new study permit or attend the semester at your college. How long have you been in Canada already? Do you have enough funds to show that you can support yourself without working for 4+ months?
