TR to PR pathway was supposed to be the fastest route to immigrate during COVID as the applicants were already in Canada. It is a big joke now as IRCC cannot even commit a tentative time when the applications will be processed. They have processing timelines for all the pathways except TR PR and nobody has any idea what is going on right now ! Local MP s are clueless, the IRCC agents are clueless.. this is ridiculous! We have also paid quite a lot of money to get the applications processed and they cannot keep us in the dark like this. It will great fun to wait till 2024 and learn that they rejected my application if they decide to ! It is so frustrating!

Yeah I can feel you, also everyone here who are waiting for the final decision can feel it too. That’s all I know is they’ve got our money in their pocket lol and let’s us paying taxes. Times waiting are killing all us day by day, then month by month without a result.

The details of the OWP for TR to PR Pathway are here:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/tr-pr-pathway/open-work-permit.html

Read them verify carefully a few times because you have to follow a few unique (not very obvious) application instructions specifically for this pathway. If you want the full time period available to Dec 31, 2024, make sure your Passport doesn't expire (and possibly your Biometrics) before Dec 31, 2024, as this will limit the expiry date they can provide. Best wishes.

Amazing thank you so much!!

They announced this policy during the pandemic. As you can see, we’re not in pandemic crisis anymore. They simply do not give a shit about us. During pandemic, we helped this country while they were out there, offering free money to their citizens. Now, when we need their help, they duck. All we need is transparency. At least pretend to care, Canada! What a disgrace!

Hi, I got my cbsa notes today. There was one update. “ Reassessment Granted: Client is eligible for the Temporary Public Policy in effect from October 6, 2022 to October 6, 2024. Reassessment granted

What this means? Is this part of eligibility stage?

Folks, I have a question about pcc. For this tr to pr pathway, do we really need to apply for pcc? I remembered that there was a time when I was speaking with an ircc agent, they told me no need to apply and submit a pcc as it is done internally by ircc through rcmp. If that's the case, why did I see a facebook post of someone trying to upload a pcc as a requested document? Much appreciated.

I feel you bro, its been really a big ordeal. But you should have known that (or atleast know now) that's how govt operates. Canada never promised to give this opportunity nor are they entitled to. We came here for education and have to technically go back. See US, UK, Germany, they have even stricter rules than Canada. Heck I have family down south (in US and in Ausi) and they have it even worse there. In US, it takes f*n years to get a green card and the citizen ship, and some people have waited over a decade. The H-1B visa is restricted to a lottery system with a max cap. In Ausi, they make people jump through fire hoops (figuratively) for the PR (barring some streams). I know the system needs overhauling in Canada, but it'll take a long time (maybe 5-6 years before then can actually fix it, my opinion, based on how big govt or companies turn aorund and fix things). But as much stress there is, due to pandemic after effects, you also have a job, a stay/work permit and apparently a good life/friend circle where you live. Housing, i agree, is a mess but it can't be solved without ample construction workers (need immigrarion for that) and big companies who will bankroll this project. As Canada is still a capatalist country and they can't be building houses like in a controlled socialist style set up (Although personally, no harm, if they did do so to address the housing shortage). I think you will be a good citizen for Canada (based on your hard work and the helping out you mentioned you do). As much as it sucks, i guess we can wait another year (as slow as thing seems which will push it to 2023).
We all know Immigration is tough is every other country that’s why we are here in Canada. Its not fair that for the same program or any other program to some people you’re processing files in 2-3 months and for some its been 15+ months. And if other countries don’t give you Pr/Green Card they are not calling themselves land of immigrants, not using immigration ease rules for their election campaign and they are not doing us favour by giving us PR, there is a criteria, we fulfilled that, thats how we get that and no to mention the crazy tax we pay

You need to provide a police PCC from any other country you lived in for more than 6 months after the age of 18. You do not need to provide one for Canada because IRCC already has a process to get that from the RCMP. Some people have been providing the Canadian PCC as well but it’s not necessary.
