Hello guys,
I have a question regarding my citizenship test,I got myAOR in April and I think I will get my test invitation anytime soon,the thing is , I’m not in canada at the moment due to my mom medical treatment.should I come back to canada to do the test for a short period of time?is there any problem doing the test outside of Canada?

If you are outside of Canada and you would like to take the Canadian citizenship knowledge test
from outside of Canada, please contact us at
xxxxxx within 24 to 48
hours from the date of this notice and indicate ‘’Outside Canada’’ in the subject line of the email.
Provide your name, application number and the start and end date for your online test in the text of
your email. We’ll contact you with the next steps after we receive your email.

You can take both test and interview outside Canada without any problem.
They can even accommodate oath outside if it's a medical scenario.

Thank you so much for your reply,I just saw that those who took the exam outside canada experience a delay in their application,I’m thinking about going back to canada for a month,and one more question,how long does it normally take to get an interview after test completion?

This is not a good idea, anyone can tell from your IP. Irrespective of that, physical presence check comes right after test and they notice these things on the travel history.

There already went through a series of citizenship fraud cases in the 2010s and they're not going to take these things lightly.

Just follow the instructions on the invite. Stupid stuff like this will make sure your application will be categorized as misrepresentation and you'll be either thrown out, never to come back again and have to wait 5 or 10 years before you can reapply for citizenship.

If you're outside you'll need to be proactive in tell them (during the interview if you get one or by email) you'll return for oath at any time they schedule.

Also note that if you take the test in Canada, you are less likely to get an interview. On the other hand, a lot of people who take the test outside get interviewed later on.
