2 months now since app was delivered (mid July) and still no sign of CC being charged, anyone else?

I called up to check on my app and they said couple weeks ago my app is in process and that’s all they can tell me. I’m also wondering how much they charge on the CC and what it’s named under? I will look through my credit card statements in-depth later.

Received passports for my kids and spouse. Still waiting for mine. Hopefully should get it in in next day or 2.

We applied for our passport (2 adults + 2 kids) from Service Canada location. No travel plans, no follow ups.

Applied on: May 24th.
CC Charged: Same day
3 passports received: Sep 28th

So 18+ weeks.
And finally, i received mine today. I did call up 6868 number on 10/14 to check the status and was told that passport application is approved.

Again, this is not an update:
-back on 11 Oct, the 6th hotline officer "transferred" my application to the local office for "pickup on Oct 21". The local office asked me to call back, I said the travel date was in Dec, then this guy said "too early", "call back on Nov 30/Dec 1", and then hanged up. I wasn't given a chance to speak.
-I sought help from the local MP office. The coordinator is now taking care of my case.
-Oct 21 has ended and naturally zero response from anybody except the coordinator. I now wrote a formal complaint but now through this coordinator.

I don't care who are reading this complaint:
-You, the second/Aug 15 hotline officer, treated my updates as a joke, and put my file unattended for a whole month (Aug-Sep) until the Sep 15 officer noticed how you didn't do your job.
-You, the local office guy, hanged up and before that you gave a misleading and wrong date.
-My complaint is about both of you. Get fired or something. You did a disservice as part of the Federal (which has millions of mistakes anyway).
I cannot know if this is case, but I may well be the worst procrastinated passport case in the entire huge Canada of 38 millions. Even with the coordinator's intervention, it is already a brewing personal disaster.

I have my personal busy life but really I would qualify for a whole media report.

Received my passport finally - exactly 18 weeks; For all applied in June or earlier, I would suggest to call 1-800 number and check your status; I think it helps; because on my second call they viewed in the file I called and asked.
Good luck all!

Passport Application Sent: September 12, 2022
Passport Application Delivered: September 13, 2022
Credit Card Charged: September 19, 2022
Passport Received: October 18, 2022 (1 of 3)
Update to this: Called Passport Canada on Friday the 21st, my son's passport is still in examination. My husband's was sent out on Thursday the 20th via xpresspost and will be here Monday or Tuesday!

It seems only applicants who applied over the last month are eligible for the recently updated timeline for regular process (10-20 days).

According to what I see in this forum, applicants who applied before the recent update in the timeline are still waiting for their passport even 4 months after they applied. Please kindly share your opinions in this regard friends.

Hey everyone,

I sent my passport application along with my citizen certificate on July 7th, 2022 via UPS. UPS was supposed to deliver on July 12, 2022. On July 13th, I noticed that the application package was not been delivered and was still in progress. When I called UPS, they said they could not locate the application package. So long story short, they declared the package was lost and I was devastated. After a few weeks, I applied for proof of citizenship certificate again stating that the citizenship certificate was lost by UPS on Aug 17, 2022. The processing time to get the citizenship certificate is 17 months. So, I lost all hope of travel and the worst experience of my life. I was tired of being on long wait calls with UPS and IRCC.
On Oct 17, 2022, I received a notification from Canada post about a registered post. I thought I might have received the proof of citizenship certificate but I got my passport. I was ecstatic that the unbelievable had happened.

Once the reality synced in, I realized that I still have to deal with my citizenship certificate as it was not returned with my passport. When I called the Passport office, they told me to wait for another 3-8 weeks to get my citizenship certificate. Is there a contact number I can use to know if and when my original citizenship certificate will be returned? Also, I appreciate any advice on if and when I should withdraw my new application to get proof of citizenship certificate.

I have no idea why this whole process is such a mess for all of us. This should be a life-defining moment but these delays and mishaps make it a nightmare.

Thanks in advance to everyone who is going to reply to my questions.
what probably happened was that your ups package was actually delivered but somehow they didn’t update system to delivered.
your credit card being charged should’ve alerted you that application made it to passport-canada office, and wasn’t lost.

you got your passport thats good, now wait for another delivery from xpresspost that will be your certificate returned.
get in touch with IRCC so that u don’t need new certificate as original is used to make passport! Maybe get it withdrawn via MP

oh and next time don’t use ups!!
Use fedex or canadapost Xpresspost
Or apply passport in person

incidents like this and long delays are reason why I never wanna mail a passport application and would rather apply in person at actual office

Yes brother it’s truly pathetic service

People who applied last month are treated priority whereas others who applied 4-5 months ago are still waiting. That’s messed up on so many levels. Notice how the govt still won’t open offices to regular services so that everyone can get serviced and not turned away for lacking a air ticket.

It's been 3 months since I sent my package so I called tall free 1-800-567-6868 and waited 10 mins, the agent told me mine is still under review :( (sent package in late July and no CC charged yet). My travel date is in Dec so the agent transferred my application to local office. The agent said your travel is more than 10 days so they will mail your passport and no need to pick up at the office. Hopefully I will get it before, good luck to me !

Hi everyone.
Just a quick question, and asking just incase someone has some experience with this.

Applied for first time passport for my kiddo (12 years old). The original birthday certificate from a foreign country and not country of origin is lost. Please any pointers who anyone with a similar experience and still able to process their child’s passport to please share their experience.

Thanks

My case is similar and I can in fact write an "update".
1. I've been waiting since late April, one of the most procrastinated cases ever.
2. Since 2 weeks ago, I've sought help from the local MP's office. This officer keeps on writing to me and just did today.
3. During my 6th hotline call, the officer there put my case to a local office. It wasn't a very good experience with what happened with the local office, but by today the MP officer confirmed my case now rests with the local office.
4. All along, the only barrier is my travel date in mid Dec is still "too early" for delivery. I'll still waiting until mid Nov, almost 7 months by that time.

Today, I wrote back to the MP officer "what if I had no travel plan?" If I am not travelling, I could not know when I would eventually get the passport. Maybe 2023, 8 months after or longer.

Everyone on earth can do a ton of things in 6/7/8 months. I could as well get a kid.
