Hi everyone,
I noticed a lot of people have encountered this issue recently that the POE letter missed even though the passport was stamped. I received my passport with stamp of work permit on 09/14 but haven't received the POE letter yet (after almost 2 weeks). The application status shows approved but no POE letter available. By far, I have sent email to visa office in New York (cngnyimmigration@international.gc.ca) and am awaiting their responses. Sent several web forms and no response yet. Phone calls are unreachable. For my timeline, I submitted the application in June and got the opr on 09/09. The process take nearly 13 weeks in total. If anyone has similar experience of POE letter, please kindly feel free to share your experience. My representative strongly disallowed me to enter Canada before receiving this letter, so I'm seeking ways to request this letter. Thanks.

Hi,

I'm also in the exact same situation. Gave biometrics at NYC on June 9th, got OPR on 09/09 and stamped passport on 09/16. It's been over two weeks now and still haven't received my POE. What's weird is my spouses POE was generated almost instantly (she has the same application timeline as I and is on Open Work Permit).

My attorney has also sent emails to the consulate in NYC and several webforms. No updates at all. Appreciate any help regarding that situation.

Hi,

To help others that would come across the same issue, here are all my attempts to deal with this problem. We started reaching out to the IRCC/NYC Visa office on Thursday, 09/21 and finally received the POE letter in a week. For what I understand, the letter should be created automatically but would fail for some technical reason and we'd like real people to intervene, though the IRCC would be very least proactive to do this.

Firstly, I have been sending emails to Visa Office in NYC and webforms to IRCC. No response at all. Meanwhile, my attorneys have been asking their contact in IRCC. Finally, I managed to call the IRCC in Canada and an agent helped find the letter and confirmed it was issued in the system. However, the agent didn't know why the letter wasn't uploaded and cannot guarantee how long the issue would be resolved. Fortunately, the letter finally arrived in 2 hours so that I can catch my date to travel.

So, calling IRCC directly would be the option 1 to get the response shortly, especially for this unexpected problem that doesn't have the standard processing time.

Good luck to you all.

Thanks for sharing.

Can you let me know how you got in touch with an IRCC agent please? Do you believe that helped get your POE letter?

Also, when did you finally receive the letter?

You can call them at 1-888-242-2100, however the number is only accessible if you were in Canada. So I have to use an app Fongo World to simulate a Canadian number. Honestly due to the high volume of phone calls they are very hard to reach, so just be patient. I finally got the letter one week after starting sending emails and two weeks after my visa was stamped. I believed that they do have some effects. I've called them twice. The first agent found the letter and left a comment to notify the issue, though she said she's not allowed to send that directly to me. After two hours, the second agent told me the letter has been issued somehow, meanwhile my attorney sent me the letter.
