Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2021

Hi, I have applied for permanent residency for my parents through sponsorship last year (2021). They already did their medical and submitted additional doc request for their police certificate few months ago. I received two emails today, one for pre-arrival and another email with additional doc request again. It is asking for PhD details for my dad. While I did not put PhD as a degree for my dad, he has a bachelors degree and that's what I've put as a degree for him. Is this by mistake or template or anyone else received a similar email? any suggestions on how to reply to such a request?

Education diplomas/degrees: You are required to provide the following information in relation to your
PhD: the field of study for your doctoral program, the name and contact details of your doctoral advisor and/or academic
supervisor, a detailed Curriculum Vitae, outlining the courses you instructed on and a list of all publications that you have
authored or have participated in.

Please confirm that you didnt have anything about PHD in his application, if it is not applicable, then I think u should write back and say that he doesnt have a PhD, and send his latest CV

It was a technical glitch and IRCC has informed through it's Twitter handle that the issue has since been resolved.

webforms are super slow. they are just mail forwarding service imo. maybe yours is still in a pile to be sorted. in march i sent some webforms and received reply 2 months later that the files had been "forwarded to the office". your case is urgent so skip the middleman and send an email to virtual landing.

I am near the 2 month mark and got the reply "forwarded to the office" today lol - same like last time. 2 month seems like the magic number now to hear back from webform submissions.

after all the waiting period since Nov 16th ,i finally received an online reply from IRCC to check the status online ,went to my portal to discover that my MOM's application was returned ,without any comments on the why ... looking at the content its simply a display of all the forms that i filled and next to it ...incomplete
( taking in consideration that incomplete doesn't mean necessarily that all forms are incomplete its simply that ...maybe the application was refused ...)
today ill be checking the post in case a letter is sent to explain something ...that is if i am going to get any explanation ,only thing that i received prior to today's update was a communication to resend a form as i missed adding myself and brother to the application being Canadian.

i wasn't the only one waiting and wont be the last but this lengthy process, us not being able to reach IRCC and lack of staff and communication and this type of response is simply absurd . will keep you in the loop ,this communication is related only to my application and my mom's status and shouldn't reflect any upcoming status on your side ,
keep up the high hope and i really recommend to contact IRCC on second basis for you not to miss any opportunity .

Yes, I noticed the same couple of days back. It was a technical glitch with IRCC portal.

I got a request "As proof of relationship to the principal applicant, please provide your voter
ID card, Aadhaar card and old school records (Fifth class, Middle standard and Matriculation/secondary school
certificate)." from IRCC... Did u submit both aadhar card and voter ID. I submitted only aadhar card as voter ID is not having date of birth printed.

Is it an auto message asking you to check your updated status on portal? assume you are still waiting for sponsor approval?
there might be 2 possibilities:
1. If there are forms incomplete (in your case multiple forms), there will be a followup email as a formal request, as what to submit and how to submit.
2. If you did not pass sponsor eligibility, there will be a "procedural fairness letter" (PFL) detailing why they are "going to refuse" your application. You will have one chance to address the concerns in this letter. This will be a good time to involve a professional.
Either way you need to wait for the message to come.

I don't understand this part. If your brother is canadian then he doesn't need to be added to the application. He is not an applicant, but his info is needed in applicant's forms (your mother's forms). Same applies to you. Maybe check your submitted forms again? I feel there's sth missing here.

Thanks for your reply, I really appreciate it. I have checked the CV which I already sent as a part of the application and I see bachelors as his degree, I also checked other PDF forms that I have for his application and no mention of PhD, and there is no way I have put PhD as his degree because he doesn't have one. The only thing is there were also forms which I filled through the online application page, and as long as I remember, I didn't mention anything related to PhD. I'm just worried if there was a checkbox (I don't remember if there was anything like that) or something which is causing this issue. Is there any way to download the filled application online or get more information about this?

The immigration officer said there is nothing she can do since I did not meet the MNI for 2018, that I have to wait to apply in 2023. I asked her why 2023, she said I cannot apply this year if the program opens that I have to wait for one year before I can reapply again else I will be refused. That did not settle well with me. so I want to ask here is this really through, or has anyone been told the same information before

This is the first time I've heard of this. But wait till the actual requirement of 2022 PGP comes out. No one knows if they added new rules or not at this point.

Did the person identify themselves as an actual officer, or were they possibly just an IRCC phone support person?

Were you aware that you did not meet the financial eligibility in 2018 when you applied, or did you just learn of it during the call?
