Upfront PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) is a good idea, or should I wait for a request from IRCC ? My parents are already in Canada on Visitor Visa.

Cool! just an update that I received AOR with request for PCC and some other documents and they invited me to send documents to Quebec as well.

I applied on December 5th, 2021 and didn’t even get an AOR yet. Last week I was able to link my application in GCkey successfully (thank you to everyone for the tips on how to do it) and saw our application number. It says the application is in process but no new messages at all. I can’t wait for the process to start moving as my mom will be visiting us from October for about 6 months and would like for her to be able to do her medical exam and get PCC before she comes here but the chances are slim unfortunately as it looks. Our application is pretty straightforward with minimal amount of information to be submitted. Hopefully it will breeze through when they start processing it. I have been in the lottery for 6 years. It’s all just taking sooo long. I need my mom here so much to help out with my three kids. Anybody else here from Eastern Europe? How has your process been going?

Also if I saw our application number in the GCkey (without receiving an AOR yet) can I request via email what’s it taking so long to even open our file? Do they reply to this kind of inquiries? What are your experiences with inquiries via email to IRCC?

Hi,

I got a letter asking for aadhar, voter id, PCC for my parents as well as aadhar, voter id and class 5, 10 marksheets for myself.

I dont have class 5, 10 marksheets... so instead i submitted my aadhar, voter id, birth certificate and copy of my Canadian passport... would that be okay? Or would ircc give me a hard time for not sending class 5, class 10 marksheets? Anybody in the group did not submit class 5, 10 marksheets and were okay with it? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you

Hey everyone, How long takes the entire process? 3 years as announced in IRCC wenbsite?
thanks

From what I noticed here on the forum it all depends if your application gets picked out by someone at IRCC. The ones that did get picked seem to solve within a year, the ones that don’t, like mine, will take longer- how long? No one really knows, I think, but they do give you a ballpark term like 34 months in my opinion. So this is the second time during this process that we rely on pure luck, the first time was the lottery.

What's your definition of 'Getting picked out by someone''...? getting AOR or something else?

what are the odds! I just received passport request and pre arrival today. How is yours going?
My app hit a bump in the road. Docs didn't satisfy the VO so I received 2nd ADR in august, after 3 months. I even ordered GCMS notes, but haven't received anything yet.

@kafepoche Congratulations!! Our application is not moving at all. Last correspondence was May 10 when they asked for Details of Government Employment. After that complete silence. Our MP followed up and I emailed as well for follow up but still nothing. Theres no additional info on our GCMS. “For officers review”. thats what it says on the GCMS.
Congrats again.

We can only theorize/hypothesize on this forum about how they, at IRCC process our applications. From what I observed here on the forum there are people who submitted their applications in December, 2021 and their applications are almost finalized and there are people who submitted their applications in October or November of 2021 and they didn’t even get an AOR yet. That makes me think that they don’t process applications by the date submitted, right? I don’t have any insight into the process, just my own observations. I think that all these case workers/immigration officers whether they work in the office or remotely they log into the system and pick a certain amount of file numbers at random (from the huge pool of the backlog) to work on during a certain period of time, let’s say from number F000843700 to F000843750. Those case workers who work on family sponsorship applications work possibly on spousal+ dependents applications as well and those always precede the applications for parents and grandparents. So I believe that if they start processing someone’s PGP application but also get a spousal application to work on shortly after, they automatically put the first one aside to complete the spousal one and then get back to the PGP one. Again, we’re just hypothesizing here.
