Hmm very interesting. I was wondering if they can keep you on the BG for a long time if they feel your unemployment time was too long. But hopefully not.
Nope. I don't think they will and I believe you are overthinking. :D:D

Immigration is highly beaurocratic process. It has steps :

1. Eligibility
2. Admissibily

Eligibility establishes you are qualify the criteria.

Admissibility establishes if you are allowed to enter Canada as a PR: ie you are not a criminal (Politicians or Bankers are all okay though), you have enough money and you are not too sick or having some disease that you will spread in the pristine Canadian homeless drug users or will get in the way of 100 year old gramps who want to get their MRI done since 1997.

These two steps are done by different Analysts and at times different departments. There is RCMP for criminal record, there is Health Canada for your medicals, there is CBSA for checking your immigration adventures and there is CSIS for finding out if you are 007 on Her Majesty's Secret Service.

All of these folks put their report in a central electronic document called GCMS. After all of them are done, a senior VO looks and approves. So, while your entire file is attached to GCMS, they typically depend upon analysis done by the junior Analysts. If Junior Analyst has raised some issue as "Review Required" the senior VO will then really look at it.

Mostly, its a rule based system. So BG (admissibility) folks will typically not look into your Eligibility data and vice versa.
Thanks for the detailed explanation. :D

I wrote unemployed. IRCC doesn't care if you were unemployed for 10 years as long as you have the points. You don't need to justify anything.
I know what you meant, but to clarify, unemployment doesn't have to be in the preceding 10 years of your application for EE, as that is the only period you can claim points for.

Apparently, my thinking is sort of looking like conservatives -- as far as immigration, labour and housing goes.

You tell them Poilievre!

Yum! Higher density in and around transit stations

I can live with that!

Yes, and Yes!

Indeed!

Absolute-fluffing-ly. Don't make taxi drivers out of GPs.

That being said, Conservatives are also known to sneak poison pills in everything they do. When they did EE, they cancelled anyone who had an application pending instead of transitioning them to EE. So! I am not really convinced with them.
watch his interview with Jordan Peterson, its really good

wdym, he'll fit right in. He's just adapting to the Canadian way of life.
if you're getting unemployment (or EI here in canada), why not man. I used to think getting unemployment was some kind of disgrace but ultimately its money youre paying to the govt through your taxes. People in europe seem to take years off and still get paid and they're praised as some sort of paradise

the penalty is of course, your career progression, social judgement and your purpose in life

Gotta disagree with you here man. The fact that career progression is in any way associated with someone's purpose in life is hilariously sad.

The backlog of PR applications is 639,500 and the targeted Immigration Levels Plan for 2022 is 431,645. I am just curious to know where the newly invited applicants fit in.
2023. Given 6 months processing time (which is funny), IRCC chose July to re start the draws.
