Australian points system had same mess, what they did different was instead of choosing ECA or equivalency agency, they used organization within Australia that give you overseas education equivalency. For exmple Engineers Australia help engineers and Australia Computer Society for rest of IT people. In order to get equivalency some need you to have 1-3 years of experience and for some 7 each is requirement in order to get your education assessed only. To further filter the quality of applications they only do NOC based rounds of invitation and if you can get 8 each in IELTS, you can get extra 10 points (One year work experince in Australia is only 5 points).
Yes, the Australian immigration! It was a breeze back in 2013-14... I did it. Did not go there, however. There were few things about australian immigration back then : if you were below 32 years old, had a 4 years degrees, 1-2 years experience in IT/CS, you were golden. Masters fetched more points, Phd even more.

Best part : No stinking PR Cards for re-entering australia. Oh Canada! I am looking at you

Does Australia's system penalize you for age like Canada does?

Yeah you're right, I was amazed to know how PR cards work lol. When I was issued PR, it was a pdf, I never had to use it anywhere, while immigration or applying for anything. Passport fetches your visa status automatically.

Thanks for your reply. Let me put it this way… When can I expect to receive an ITA?
Given the way things are, you're unlikely to. It's not a even a question of 'when'. Draw sizes will not increase by much, definitely not enough to offset the 500+ scores being added. Next year at some point NOC specific draws will begin. Nobody (not even the almighty Kubeir) knows what that means for general draws, what the allocations are etc. If you're in an in-demand NOC, your chances are better. But if you were, you'd probably have gotten a PNP nomination by now (unless you just recently entered the pool).

Overall, 481 is no longer a good score. It is well below the average of new profiles from what we've been seeing, and it would be foolish to even consider that it could get easier in the coming months/years. Increase your score if you can, pretend to value Canadian education and get a useless degree if you can't, or consider some other country to escape whatever hellscape you live in right now.

We dont know. But if you are waiting since 2020, go for mandamus now.

Canada has collectively retired.

what is mandamus and its expenses
Mandamus

Mandamus is a judicial remedy in the form of an order from a court to any government, subordinate court, corporation, or public authority, to do some specific act which that body is obliged under law to do, and which is in the nature of public duty, and in certain cases one of a statutory duty.

Real cost $50 I think, but with the "help" of a lawyer from $1,000 and up.

Is TR to PR pathway coming back? Only thing I can see here is lot of 500+ scores, which are usually inland, might go that way and pool becomes less dense, even still I would think 490+ is the best we might get

$1k to file. Upto $10k (and sometimes more) if there's a full hearing at the Federal Court. Usually though the file starts moving the moment you file for mandamus. So you'll be out $1k in all likelihood. I remember Steven Meurrens was charging $1k to file some time back.

You can represent and file it yourself as well and in that case you'd only be out $50 but I wouldn't recommend that as you didn't even know what mandamus is...

Bro, which state are you in? I got spoiled by Seattle's excellent medicare services. Never had to wait for more than a couple of weeks for an appointment - general or specialist.
I am in Michigan bro.
