Hi
my sister is a Canadian citizen who has sent a sponsor in my name which includes my husband and son to visit canada for her sons wedding

now who should be the main applicant while applying? ... logically it should be me ..but i dont work ..my husband has the funds and job ..should he be the main applicant ...?

All applicants over 18 have to show their own funds/home ties and justify purpose of visit
Make sure you show all this in your application

How old is your son? what documents you have to show about his schooling back home etc

Focus on building all 3 applications. Good Luck

Also Show strong ties to home country (job letters with approved leave, school admission etc). If you have travel histry to UK, US, NZ and AUS highlight that.

its end of October .. will apply within a day or two.. I am applying from pakistan..they show 140 plus days ..but i was told it should be processed in two months

I am applying online through GC key .. first it has application from for main applicant then supporting document section and then a section to upload forms for family members information (the ones who are going along)

the reason i am confused is if i make my husband the main applicant .. the proof of relationship with sponsorer gets complicated .. they need a document showing proof


You must provide proof of your relationship with your host or family member. This can include:

• a marriage certificate
• Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM5409)
• a birth certificate
• an official document naming you as a parent
• a copy of the inside back cover of the inviter's passport showing the inviter's parents, if applicable

NOW some people say to me i should be the main applicant cuz my sister is directly related to me... some say my husband should be because he has more tires and money under his name .. job. .bank statement property etc

Your husband has better home ties to show but everyone over 18 have to show their own home ties

What are you showing as your home ties? Employment? Family? You need to see how you can demonstrate that because if you are the primary applicant and not enough home ties then it definitely weakens your application

My husband has a job.. i am studying but its about to end in a month or two so don't know if i should show that .. we have property in both me and my husbands name.. and my son is only 10 ..so we have his school documents in terms of family i have one daughter who is not coming along .. my mother and siblings are also here in Pakistan my home country ..
