Eligibility Review started on 8th July, no response after that. Is anyone in a similar situation. It's been 173 days for me today.
People who have applied after me have recived their approvals.
On same status eligibility started on 6 july no update after that looks like they forgot

Hii all, I applied for extension of my PGWP because my passport got expired so my question is, when it’s approved would the period im on implied status count towards my remaining time? Cause I’m supposed to have 1 year and 2 months left on my work permit. I’m currently on implied status would this period count?

Hi all,
This is exactly my situation. I applied for PGWP Feb. 4th. Still waiting for response. I have a US trip this month 29(work trip).I know that we don't need TRV to reenter Canada after a travel solely to USA, but you need to have status(valid study/work permit). Being, in implied status, what can I expect to happen when I reenter canada? Please note I dont have a valid study permit but only status is that I have applied for PGWP.
Can somebody please answer to this?

Can I travel and come back( 2 days work trip) or coz my study permit expired and I'm on implied status I cannot

Finally, after 6 months, it got approved.
Application: Jan 18.
Approval: Jul 19.
3-year PGWP, no e-mail, just a ghost update that went back to "submitted" after I checked it.
Now it says it is approved.

I hope you, folks still waiting for an update, receive your permits soon, before 180 days. It's nerve-challenging.
All the best to everyone.

Hey, see below.

I guess the officer will let you in as a visitor since your study permit will be expired. Or as a worker if a decision in your application is made while you're away.

I’m waiting for my post-graduation work permit. Can I travel outside Canada and come back with my student visa?
You can leave Canada and return, as long as your visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is still valid. Your permit (study or work) is not a visa and doesn't allow you to travel back to Canada.
If your visa or eTA is expired, you have to get a new one before you return to Canada.
When you return to Canada:
  • You may enter as a student if your study permit is still valid.
  • If we approve your post-graduation work permit while you’re away, you may enter as a worker.
  • If we’re still processing your post-graduation work permit, you may enter as a visitor, and you can work without a work permit until we make a decision on your application.
A border officer will have some questions for you when you arrive back in Canada. The officer may ask you for proof that you applied for a post-graduation work permit, such as a copy of your application or the fee payment receipt.
If the officer believes there is reason to refuse your re-entry, you won’t be able to enter Canada.

Hey @nickgrizzly ,

Thank you for your response. I read somewhere that if I leave canada while in implied status, I lose my status and wont be able to work when I reenter. Is that true. Im currently working at a company for a year now, all while I maintained my status. My concernis if I dont get PGWP before my trip to US, when I come back, is there any reason for them to deny me entry. Im sorry to reiterate my question.

Hi everyone.

Silent observer on this thread.
Applied February 3
Eligibility review: July 18
Approval: July 18.

I am trying to apply for a TRV. For those who have applied and are still active here, what form did you have to fill out? When I did the questionnaire, the form that showed up is this Application for Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) Made Outside of Canada (IMM5257) form. Is this correct? I just want to be sure.

I think I found the answer to my question. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/apply-new-temporary-resident-visa-within-canada.html. Posting for others and future reference purposes.

Thanks guys.
