Does anyone know how long it takes for Elections Canada to update? I took my oath 2 months ago and I'm still not registered.

I would recommend contacting the elections office in the province in question. If that takes time or you can't figure out - contact your MPP (they want you to vote! you don't have to tell them you're voting for them or not).
I believe the simple question is - how can you show you became a citizen with the info from the oath ceremony. (You can ask this of IRCC too but elections offices and MPPs are in my experience more prompt)
OK, thank you! I contacted my MPP--don't know whether they'll reply in time. It's quite an interesting problem I think. They should clarify this for new citizens or have some kind of a working database that automatically registers new citizens.
An additional thought, there are advanced polling areas in every riding - go into one of them and ask what will be needed for you to vote on election day. Tell them your situation.
Note, I doubt the average poll worker would know the answer but they'll likely ask someone else in the Elections Ontario hierarchy to get back to you.
Yes, my MPP did not respond, but I got my voter card in mail so if voting early I'll ask them about that for my partner's sake. Thanks for your help! I appreciate it.
isn’t this already in place? You have to opt in during your citizenship application, which I think is reasonable. I got my voter’s information cards for both the federal and provincial elections without registering myself.
worst case you can register at the returning office or polls just before voting but this does require proof of citizenship like the certificate or a passport for naturalized citizens (or a birth certificate for those born in Canada)
I was a poll worker once and we were definitely trained on this.
I think this is all a LOT more automatic than it was before, this specific case (oath just a few days before the election) is a pretty narrow and unusual set of facts.
Does that automatically cascade the registration to Elections Ontario? And can he do it before receiving citizenship? And does the cascading happen qucikly enough between becoming a citizen and the election itself?

This does bring to mind something I'd been meaning to mention, that you are right, they may not require proof of citizenship. And I don't know about now but certainly in the past it was to a very large degree "honour system." Except that police could investigate afterwards, of course.
Obviously it's a crime to claim you're a citizen if you're not and then to vote on that basis - but it's also your right to vote if you're a citizen.
Underlying that - you take responsibility for false statements, but otherwise, they'll probably believe you.
I said 'in the past' only because less familiar with what they'd require now. It's different in a lot of ways - used to be no voter lists in advance, all the lists were done during the election period (or just before, don't remember). Now I think they maintain them all the time.
Anyway, should be easy enough to confirm with a call to Elections Ontario.
