Not on the CBSA side, but check with your airline. If you do need to renew your passport, you can use the old passport with the TRV and new passport when you travel to Canada.
Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. No additional period of validity beyond this is required, but if your passport has less than 6 months validity remaining when you arrive in Canada it may take longer to pass through immigration control.
But please check with your airlines as I know for sure , few airlines have criteria , that your passport must have 6 month min. validity
