I am sponsoring my spouse inland and at this point, we got medicals and medicals completed. Now wandering my spouse's study permit visa is expiring 2022 May 26 and I am wondering do I really need to apply for a visitor record from inside Canada or can skip it and wait until Confirmation of PR comes? My estimate Confirmation of PR will come within 1-2 months.
Any ideas?

Ideally you want to keep your spouse in status in Canada until a decision is made.

Is your spouse still attending school full time? Did you submit an OWP with the inland sponsorship application?

no my spouse finished her course. she doesn't qualify for Post grad OWP. and we didn't apply for OWP as she gave a birth 20 days ago. she is on maternity leave

I'm not asking about a PGWP.

You sponsored her inland, right? I'm asking if she has applied for an OWP in connection with the inland spousal sponsorship application.

so technically speaking if we get a decision made before or on May 26 2022 then no need to apply for a visitor record?

no, we didn't submit OWP with the inland spouse application.

You want to make sure she remains in status.

Not sure how long ago her schooling ended. However you either want to convert her status to visitor or submit an OWP application to keep her in status.

so just submit visitor record from Canada , it costs $100 and by the time they issue her visitor status she will receive COPR

we got medicals done couple days ago. So doctors office probably sent out the medical results to IRCC

Medicals generally happen earlier in the process. IMO it will take a miracle to be done by end of May. But maybe you'll get lucky!
