I am already in Canada as an international student. I applied for work permit for student(coop permit) since January 14 but yet to receive it . My placement is in 2 weeks time, my status still reads "in progress", what can I do?

Does your work permit give you authorization to work off campus? If yes, you can work up to 20 hours on your work placement until a decision on your co-op permit. You can’t work a part-me job when dong your placement unless placement is s less than 20 hours per week.
Worst-case scenario, talk to your placement supervisor about converting the Co-Op to part-time instead of full-time. Work 20 hours a week. It isn't a perfect solution, but can buy you time.
