I applied for a student visa on October 27, 2021, and it has now been five and a half months and no action has been taken on my visa application. Until today, I've received medical and biometric information. I completed my first-semester college course online from my home country, and my second semester will begin on May 8th, which will be offline according to college terms and conditions. I'm required to attend the second semester offline at the college campus, and I've raised webform multiple times but have yet to receive clearance on it. I have a deadline for fee refunds until April 30th.

Hi,

Try contacting IRCC via Twitter. That may help I guess

Hi,

I'm also in the same situation. I applied on 25th Oct and am still waiting for the decision. Tried email, webform, Twitter, and calling the VAC, but nothing worked.

What steps can we take to address this? I have until April 30th to request a refund.

When starting your studies before getting your Study Permit approved, that´s the risk you take. Unfortuntely, now all you can do is raise webforms and hope you receive an answer. IRCC Twitter does not discuss personal cases via Twitter. Another thing you can do is email or contact the Visa Office that's processing your application, explain your case and aks them for a decision. IRCC has a tool where you can find out the Visa Office that processes the applications for each country. Find your country of residence and then contact the VO. Good luck!

I don't think we can do anything in regards to expediting the application process. My advice will try and convince your University to let you continue online somehow, and take courses that don't have an in-person component. If they don't allow you might have to take a break from your studies and continue from next semester onwards.

Just take into consideration that there's a possibility you continue your studies which means you will continue to pay for tuition and at the end, you receive a refusal from IRCC. Will the university refund you for all of your money? Most universities have deadlines and policies, some of which state that if you finished a term, you will not be refunded because in theory, you already studied and finished successfully the term. If you decide to continue studying online without a decision from IRCC, make sure your university will refund you all of your money. If that's not the case, it would be better to put your studies on hold and wait for a decision.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot!!! I have till April 30th to get my complete refund. As a result, I was unable to do anything but wait? I'm not sure what I'll do next or how things will unfold.
