Does any one knows is it for which VO ? Any inputs would be highly respected.

Liberals to introduce two-year ban on foreign homebuyers in budget: sources
The Trudeau government is set to unveil a budget on Thursday that would contain multiple measures on housing affordability, including a ban on foreign homebuyers, CTV News has learned.

Sources said the Liberals will make it illegal for foreigners to buy residential properties in Canada for the next two years. The properties include condos, apartments and single residential units.

Permanent residents, foreign workers and students will be excluded from the measure, as well as foreigners buying their primary residence in Canada.

“The people that will be banned are those that buy the home and never come to Canada to live in it and leave the home empty while the inventory is low and people can’t buy homes,” said CTV News’ Ottawa Bureau Chief Joyce Napier.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledged during the 2021 federal election campaign that he would introduce a two-year ban on foreign homebuyers.

Other measures to be introduced in Thursday’s budget include $4 billion to help municipalities update their zoning and permit systems to make way for faster construction of residential properties, $1.5 billion in loans and funding for co-op housing and $1 billion for construction of affordable housing units.

It is unclear how many units will be built under the two spending measures. The housing package is expected to total about $10 billion over the next five years.

Last week, the Ontario government announced a hike on the non-resident speculation tax and expanded it across the province.

Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland will deliver the budget on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Since March the 17th, Canada has received more than 112,000 application for emergency travel from Ukranian nationals fleeing the war.

They have approved 26,500 applications so far.

That is too much pressure on the IRCC. I really don't know how they will handle all this load and still function properly.

What a fucking joke...in 3 weeks they can approve 30k applications buy can't approve the same amount of applications that they've been sitting on for over 2 years? It's not that there are backlogs...you're from the wrong country

There goes the quota for FSW this year. Even the ones in the queue will land next year, I guess.

I just wish they'd cancel the applications than to string us along and extort our hard earned money with re medicals and other expenses every year

Although they are just visitor visas, they pretty much can contribute to the workforce almost immidiately if they speak English since they will have an open work permit when they arrive.

In the governments point of view this is the best course of action to fill up those low-skill level jobs in the short term, while maintaining a high reputation in regards to refugees in the world stage. Just my 2 cents.

Security and eligibility yes, but for medical conditions no since they are visitors.

They can definitely pull out a great number of applications when they are forced to. I would guess they are working on quarter basis in regards to PR applications. In other words, if they have a policy to process 147k applications per quarter, it doesn't matter if they are done at the beginning or at the end of the quarter.

Politics man, they either make or break the system.

I thinks this Liberal Party of Canada are only after political point with this refugees program or they have plans to milk more money from us (EE applicants) most especially underdeveloped countries. 30k in 3 weeks, so they can clear the backlog for EE files in less than 2 months. Someone needs to open touch (investigate) IRCC activities. They are now behaving like a giant monkey thief.
