Hello,

I am currently interested in hiring FRENCH graduate students for their 10 weeks (paid) internship. (I know they are agreements between france and canada)
A) If they work remotely from france, is there any immigration procedure ?
B) If they were to come they should have a coop permit, but do I have to make a Labour Market Impact Assessment? since they are french I am not sure

Thanks
Best regards,
Mickael

Definitely won’t count as Canadian work experience if they work remotely.

B) Co-op work permit only applies to individuals studying in Canada. A French graduate student would need to obtain a closed work permit. They could also look into the IEC program (working holiday visa).
