Secondary is almost always slow. Likely you will be impacted more by the line in front of you than anything else. Remember that most people in secondary was sent there because of some issue. So those cases are rarely resolved quickly.

Just wanted to update this post for anyone who was interested.

I landed in YVR (Vancouver) Last Wednesday. I was directed to use the PR line where the scanners were. I scanned my PR card and put in my customs declaration, after a few moments the screen said it would need to ask me a few more questions, at this time I was thinking, 'Oh great, here we go' but after another few moments it popped up on screen "Do you have any fruits or vegetables" I giggled internally and pressed no. I thought for sure I was gonna be called over for a secondary review. After finishing at the machine I was directed to show my PR card and declaration to the officer at the end of the line. I thought I was definitely gonna be asked for a secondary review here, but he just glanced at my documents and said that is fine.

I then picked up my bags and am now safely in Canada again! I do not plan on leaving for at least two years so that my residency can reset.

I think I was lucky, though I was missing just 4ish months in order to meet my residency obligations and my PR card was not expired. I think these facts affected my experience.

Thanks for all the help!

Nice.

I'm sure that your PR card still being valid was the big thing. If it was expired, the kiosk would likely flag you for having expired documents. But because it is still valid, it just let you through.
