Hey guys! While it's been over a year since they started processing my application and 5 months since DM I'm still waiting for my oath invitation. However, do I need to be physically in Canada during all this time? I was told I don't need to be but now I'm doubting. I've been outside of Canada spending time with parents since my citizenship test. Also, my PR card is going to expire in June. Should I renew it just so I can get back to Canada if my invitation arrives later than June? Thank you so much and good luck to everyone who's also waiting. Cheers!

You can leave Canada anytime you want. Your application is based on the physical presence 5 years prior to the day you signed your application.
If you are outside Canada and your PR card expires you would want to get travel documents (which might take a month) to travel back to Canada.
If you are in Canada and have no plans to travel, you can choose not to renew the PR card as it doesn't matter if your PR card expires.
