(Urgent) In-person application for visitor visa at Seattle office

Hi,

Anybody had experience to apply for visitor visa at Seattle office? Got the visa stamp the same day?

I am in urgent help on this matter. I filed vistor visa application a month ago for my parents-in-law to Buffalo office. Apparently they are in great backlog, which makes me believe I won't be able to get the visa before the departure day next week.

I am seeking the option to get the passports back and go to Seattle for a same day visa application. Any suggestions/experience on the two topics will be greatly appreciated:

1) get back the passport from Buffalo office
2) same day in-person visa application at Seattle office.
