Dear Friends,

Appreciate if you could help me for this query.

I did my initial landing on 11 March 2016 to become PR with my family. However I have returned to gulf to resume my job. My family is still in Canada. I intend to join my family after 4 to 6 months.

My question is, when I have to file tax for 2017 would I need to pay tax for salary income gulf for these 6 months.
I have not yet applied for child benefits or health card. However I have opened bank account and have g1 license. Also I have not yet taken any rented house or purchased car.

Regards
Sheray

Hi - it is important to disclose your world wide income on your tax return. PM me and I will explain what/how you need to do this!

As you have clear ties to Canada (your family lives here), you will be considered a resident for tax purposes and will have to pay taxes on your salary earned abroad.
