Hi,
I have a different kind of query. I'm currently living in Canada on a Work Permit(Post Graduate). I'm going to send my application to the CIO for FSW in March '10. The problem is, my work permit expires in October 2010. Given the current timelines, it looks obvious that my work permit will expire by the time I get my PR status. (I'll get my reply from Sydney, but I'll still be waiting for my reply from Buffalo).
What course of action should I take in this scenario?
Is there a way to get my work permit extended? I do not think my employer would be willing to to go through the tedious process of doing an LMO.
Do I need an LMO to extend my Work permit?
Can my work permit be extended on the merit that my file has been approved by the CIO and I'll be getting my PR in just a matter of time?
If the work permit extension option fails, can I extend my stay as a Visitor for 6 months or so till I recieve my Immigration status?
Any other bright ideas/suggestions?
P.S. I also have a 10 year B1/B2 US visa...
