I am a recent graduate from a Canadian college and will be applying for my PGWP in February once I get my completion letter. My wife has been on a SOWP since February 2023.
I am currently employed as a part-time security guard (which is a TEER 4 category job) which will change to full time security guard when I am on applied status for my PGWP. I just wanted to know the chances of getting my wife's SOWP extended if I apply for it with my security guard job. I know earlier, in order to get SOWP extended, the primary applicant (student with PGWP) needed to have a NOC 0, A, B job. Is that condition still applicable ?
According to this link, security guard comes under low skilled worker category.
Her SOWP expires on March 31, 2024. She has a visitor visa stamped on her passport.
Please let me know if someone is in the same situation and if it is advisable to apply for a SOWP extension when the primary applicant is working a TEER 4 job.
