Thank you. I contacted BLS and they confirmed only attested copies required.

Rish did you got OCI card?
I'm doing [postal] OCI application for minor and BLS is asking for an Original and copy of Birth certificate and Canadian passport.
Doesn't make sense to send Original document. (checklist is also showing original + copy)

I have not received yet but my application went through to consulate. They require self attested copies nothing original.
