Just applied for M.Eng to 5 universities in Canada for fall 2016.

I have applied for Masc to york university and university of manitoba for fall intake 2016 in january but haven't got any reply yet from these two.
Classes are starting around 8th of september. Is it normal for universities to take so much time(almost six months) to reply?
Should i wait for their reply or aim for january intake?

forget about fall intake....aim for january
bcoz now you don't have sufficient time for do other process like university fee payment then GIC and then VISA
GIC alone takes minimum 10 working days (normal case) and VISA process takes min. approx 3-4 weeks..
