How to pay the fee?

Hi
As I checked CIC, I can pay the application fee either in Canadian $ or Singapore $. But I couldn't well get the instruction to submit a bankdraft "Drawn On A Bank in Canada OR Drawn on a bank in Singapore"?

Can I make this draft in Thailand (I live here)??. As I (mis)understand "Drawn on a bank in Canada/Singapore", does it means the bankdraft must be made at any bank but inside Canada or Singapore and I can't make it locally??

You need to find ..

1) a Canadian bank,
2) a Singaporean bank, or
3) a Thai bank with an international agreement to issue another bank's checks.

You might try HSBC or Scotiabank. They both have branches in BKK.

You can make a bank draft drawn in favor " ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR CANADA" from BANKOK BANK at the Siam Square Branch, Bangkok you pay in Baht and they convert into C$ for the draft. You then send it over to Singapore along with your application.

Actually it is the Receiver General for Canada.

The draft must be "Drawn on a Bank in Canada or Singapore".

You mean Bangkok Bank has that kind of tie up with a Canadian bank?

Don't worry about the 'tie-ups' between banks. Just go to Bangkok Bank, Siam Square Branch in Bangkok and they will do it for you. I say so because I have just made a draft for ROLF at this bank.

Can you tell me how much time I would have in between submission of my application (at Singapore) and to prove the funds I decalre in my application??

You will have to prove your during the final stages of your application process. Along with your medical instructions you will receive a form called "PERSONAL NET WORTH STATEMENT", which you will have to fill up and provide proof from your bankers. You will also have to provide your Indian and Thai PCC and enclose these documents with your bank details. I does not matter if your financial status changes between the time you submit your application and the submission of the personal net worth statement.
