Hey guys,
Could you please let me know what GCMS notes means? How do I get them? What is it for? I applied in February 2013, got my file number March 15.No update on my file yet since then... Thank you!

NO, if you are in canada .... select Privacy ACT

No, under PRivacy act. Its pretty quick, won't take more than 5 mins.

Find below some useful info.

1. Visit https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en
2. Scroll down and check the box "I have read, understood and agree with the above Privacy Notice." and Submit.
3. Select CIC from the drop down. (first field)
4. Select Individual/Corportation present in Canada (Second drop down)
5. Fill in your details (Self explanatory)
6. Select Member of public for "Select the category that best describes you"
7. select "E-mail" for "How would you prefer to receive the requested records" ( choose the mode you are comfortable with)
8. Continue to next page.
9. You dont need to attach any additional documents, unless you want to prove something.
10. Select Privacy Act in next page
11. Submit the final request. Once you submitted the request, wait for one month.

I am May 2012 applicant. I Updated my file (New Baby ) on April 2, 2013.. But still now I didn't get my Baby medical request. It is more than 3 months. Me and my Spouse got medical Feb 20, 2013. I applied by Representative.

I have question, Can I order GCMS notes myself ?, I am the principal applicant. But I am not authorized person to access my file, Because I use representative for CEC class.

Otherwise I use the same representative for GCMS notes ?

Please give your advice for me, Thanks in advance....

I believe we can under the privacy act. I also use a rep and have requested by own notes (free vs $100+).

Quick question(s) for you guys, 8)

1. how long after submitting your application should one wait until requesting GCMS for the
first time?

2. once requested and received, do you recommend requesting notes again? like right away?

3. if not right away, how long should on individual wait until the next request?
