from where I can get/find my file number

  1. I want to send e mail to chc. But I have to mention my file number and I don't know what is my file number? Plzz tell me
  2. You will get your file number from CHC when they reply to your email. Their reply email has your file number mentioned. While mailing them you must include the following:

    file number, if available
    full name (surname, given names)
    date of birth (dd/mm/yyyy)
FOSS number or client ID number in our office, if you know it
    mailing address
e-mail address, if you agree to e-mail communication
telephone and fax number, including area code (example: 101-6532-3236)
  3. thanx inam bhai....mean now I can send e mail to chc without my file number? coz they did not send me any e mail yet. and I dont have my file number..
and brother one thing more that what is FOSS number or client ID number?
  4. FOSS is the In Canada system for tracking individuals. The FOSS ID# is also known as the Client ID# and is eight digits in length.

Each CIC office in Canada is assigned a four digit number as well and one may see a letter with 12 digits but only the final eight numbers represent the individual.

    Hope this conclude your confusion.
  5. thanks inam bhai.
