Daughter born in Thailand, waiting for Citizenship Card

Hi,
This is my first time to this site so I am totally lost and worried of course. My daughter was born in Thailand (father is Thai) and I applied for her Canadian Citizenship in March. They said the processing time was 7 months+, now I am with her in Canada the Canadian Embassy issued her a 'Limited Validity passport' and I am wondering if I can get her Citizenship Card here or do I need to contact the Embassy and ask them to mail it to me??
All advice is welcomed.

Well, are you planning to stay in Canada long enough for them to mail it? Or can you use the limited passport when you go back to Thailand and pick up her card in the embassy there when it's ready?

I don't know how long it is supposed to take for a citizenship card. According to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/certif-processing.asp it should take roughly 7 months. You can call immigration at 1 888 242‑2100 might have to press 0 to find a live person. They should be able to tell you what the status is of her citizenship card and what you can do to get it.

thanks Leon, I would like to pick her card up here or have the Embassy mail it to me here so I can register her for Provincial Health Care. Right now she is holding a Canadian passport but isn't registered for ANY health care system.

In order to register her for health care, you might have to prove that you are living in the province so be prepared that they might ask for something for that.
