Certificate of Citizenship - proof of ID minor

So I'm sending in my kids applications.
It asks for;
original or clear certified copies

I can send an original birth certificate.
But, 2 pieces of ID (I'm using a passport card & social security card)
I'll have to have those 'notarized' right.

Ugh!

If I've already made the copies- I can just bring the Passport and have them sign, no?

where does it say that you need notarized copies for the 2 pieces of child's id

in my case, i only bring the originals to the consulate

I need to mail it in. As we are in USA.
It says they need to be certified but I can't certify a copy of a social security card....

Just to let you know that ICI asked us to provide "notarized" photocopy of my baby's passport (where the picture and infos) and another notarized photocopy of her immunization record. So I had to photocopy her passport and her shot record then get someone to notarized them. I think they also asked my husband's birth certificate /passport copy as well as her birth certificate (we sent original certified since it is easy to get where we live).

Hope this helps. We sent her application in April and it was in the ECas after less than one month.

I did end up getting their passport card and social security cards notarized, hopefully that's well and good enough for them.
