I plan to import to Canada my USA registered car, it is on my GTF list. I want to do this at the Queenston/Lewiston crossing into Ontario
My question is, if I follow all the steps for the US CBP (export) and CBSA (import), will I be allowed to proceed to drive to Toronto with my current US plates and US auto insurance (valid for 30 days in Canada)?
As soon as I am in Toronto I can change my DL to an Ontario license, and proceed to get the required inspections done, get Canadian auto insurance, and register the car.
