I came to Canada as Federal Skilled Worker and took IELTS exam back in 2012 with an overall band of 8 and at-least 7 in all areas. Also I have MS from a US university. My question is :

1. Would I need to take additional Language exam or the MS degree certificate should suffice ?
2. If CIC needs IELTS, would the IELTS score from 2012 satisfy the requirement ?
3. If I do not have the copy of the IELTS report ; would CIC have it in their records ?
4. My wife has her undergrad certificate from India which was in English Medium but degree (which is English btw) does not say so explicitly ? Would that work ?

1. IELTS is good
2. From the requirements page : https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-0002-application-canadian-citizenship-under-subsection-5-1-adults-18-years-older.html#Step3
International English Language Testing System (IELTS), General Training. You must have a score of:
  • 4.0 or higher in speaking and
  • 4.5 or higher in listening. (Note: If the test was done before November 28, 2008, we will accept a level 4 or higher)
So yes, old expired language score is accepted

3. No CIC wont. You need to either get a new one from IELTS, check with them.
4. Get a letter from university/college that the medium of instruction was English
