Biometrics not successful due to fingerprint quality

Hello,

My father's Biometrics collection was not successful at his first attempt on Nov 17 at VFS because of his not so good fingerprint. The local VFS staff told us to go back and wait for email instruction.
It's been almost a month but we haven't heard any news from IRCC nor local VFS. I have a webform sent to IRCC asking but no response either...

For this process, may I ask whether IRCC will issue a new Biometrics collection letter for him? Or shall we just use the old one to book another appointment?
I actually tried to rebook, but it told me the IRCC number was already used. Not sure if I was doing something wrong.

Can someone had similar experience please help?
