My mother just started with her Canadian employer 2 months ago, she is a federal skilled worker and on the skills shortage list. She is not happy with her employer for variuous valid reasons. Will we be able to report him to the authorities for not paying overtime etc.?
I want to find out whether she would be able to apply for work with another employer (even in another state) and if so, will she be able to do this from inside Canada? Will she still be able to work for the current employer until the new application is being processed? Will her current employer know that she applied for other work or will she be able to give notice once the new work visa is approved? Is this a difficult process? If all this is possible, what should she do (apply to change her current work permit or apply for a new one)? Do you have any advise which I can can pass onto her.
