Applied for PR Card renewal but no update yet..anyone know why?

Hello experts:

I applied for PR CARD RENEWAL ON 11th Dec by registered post and they received on 17th Dec. Since then I can't trace my application. CIC website says, it is likely that they didn't start processing my application. Any idea from recent experiences, how long CIC usually takes to start processing upon physically receipt of an application?
