Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Tracker updated today. So looks like both mom and brother will become Canadians soon! My dad had some extra travel and applied 3 months later, so will probably have his sometime in August.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Definitely virtual, cause form needed to be sent. For in-person you just sign it on the spot and receive your certificate at the end.

My mom just got her invitation for May 20th oath (virtual, Vancouver), no tracker update. Original cancelled oath was May 3rd.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Any news from anyone in Vancouver office? My mom's tracker still shows last update from May 3rd (ghost update) and still a ceremony scheduled for May 3rd (yesterday). No email invitation or cancellation.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Ok, just called IRCC and the agent confirmed, that my mom's May 3rd oath (which was supposed to be online according to the agent, and for which we never received an actual invitation) was cancelled and that she will be rescheduled.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Install TextNow and get a Canadian number. Calls to 888-242-2100 work thought that app. I called them last week on Tuesday, they said that it would be rescheduled automatically if strike didn't end by the oath date. Haven't tried calling the today.

    August 2022 Citizenship Applications

Ok, looks like we missed the AOR e-mail, but were checking the citapply-citdemande.apps.cic.gc.ca, I was expecting the AOR to show up there once assigned, but that website still shows "Submitted" and no AOR. Weird user experience, but I was able to register both mom and dad for the tracker and...

    NEXUS application

I wonder why, applied for my 1 y/o daughter back in April 2022, still "Pending review". At the enrollment center, I was told the backlog is 12+ months, and that her application was already reviewed on the Canadian side, just pending a background check on the US side. Not sure what kind of...

    August 2022 Citizenship Applications

My mom applied online on August 2 (Vancouver-based), she's over 60, so won't need a test. Just checked today (Jan 11), still no AOR. Is such a long delay for an AOR normal/typical for Vancouver? Do the online applications get processed in local IRCC offices (i.e. timelines to even receive an AOR...

    Voluntary withdrawal of entry clarification

I'm trying to understand whether there are any future implications of voluntary withdrawal to enter Canada. During the whole COVID-19 pandemic I remained South of the border because I work in the US. But there was an essential need for me to drive to Canada to assist in dealing with a security...
