One question - the OCI isn't really stamped in the actual passports right ? It comes as a separate booklet because for me the passport was never taken. It is already processed. I am a little confused when people say passport.

I agree. It is very random. No point fighting them. The government back home may or may not be aware of this loot but nobody really cares.

BLS people are internally pressurized to make money. I was asked to pay $6 each for status updates for my applications. Then they asked me to pay for courier charges saying that if the OCI comes to BLS, there are only a few slots after 3 PM when people can actually come and collect. I was asked...

Anyone with acknowledgement date Jan 23rd got OCI approval yet ?

Mine is dec 29 and ack Jan 23. Hoping to get it tomorrow or day after based on a fixed pattern that I am observing of 21-23 days post ack date

Anyone with Date of acknowledgement - Jan 23, 2023 has the status updated to printing? Looks like it is a 21 days time for the same and by that logic it should have been today.

Do they stamp OCI in the passport because for my new born babies they did not take the original passport.

Is it different original documents for everyone? For me they didnt ask for passport or employment letter. Rather took birth certificates of the babies. @abbas.pasha

Yes it is perfectly fine. We did it and are now in Canada as PRs.waqf board is totally acceptable as long as it is in English
