I am also in similar situation. Most probably, a transit visa is not required. I am travelling on 23rd from Delhi to Montreal via Rome with 18.5 hr layover. U?

Thanks for a prompt response. Actually, I am traveling through Air India - Air Canada connecting flight. So I may need to collect my baggage and check-in again at Rome. Was your case also the same? Also is it possible to do this without needing to exit the airport?

Why don't you try under Express Entry application or PNPs?
