@Kmn : If I understand it correctly, you didn't have the option of the worker visa [ or visitor visa alternatively ]to enter canada. You just had a PR visa. In that case, certainly one only has to land, one can't enter Canada without landing in this situation.

@jaishreekrishna: how did it go with you? were you able to land based on worker visa and delay your landing?

@Kmn, I am in the same situation as yours. Were you able to land based on your work permit? is it possible not to do the landing when you were returning to Canada because your marital status has changed and you wanted to add your spouse as well? Urgently needed, appreciate your quick response...
