P.Eng APEGA (Professional Engineers of Alberta) review timeline

I submitted the request to update the experience on March 2019 and received the P. Eng designation on Oct 2019. But from the Town Hall meeting on Sep 24, 2020, it seemed that the review is much quicker right now. Good luck.

Unlikely they will assign you the FE exam again. EIT = you meet the academic requirement so they will not review the academic records for P.Eng.

My P.Eng application was deferred for 10 months because they approved less experience than I claimed. I completed my NPPE way earlier than 10 months. The advantage of taking the NPPE early is that you don't need to wait for register to the exam and wait for exam result - if you want the P.Eng asap.

I think this is a good sign. If FE is required, your application status will be there until you meet the requirement. If your application status is gone - you will receive email soon for authoring your P.Eng designation.

My case to board was on October. The status changed into P. Eng in the member self services on Oct 7 and received official email notification on Oct 9. Every months the Board meets at different time. You can keep checking your member self services. Good luck.

Sep 2018 to Aug 2019 - that was a long time for P.Eng application! You can call APEGA office and check why there are two Case to Board. I guess it is an error.

It seemed the review duration is quite long now. My status changed into Internal Review on April 4. It is still in the Internal Review stage now!

It is too late to say but you really should take the 5 more exams - if you can pass FE, the 5 more agepa exam is a piece of cake. It costly though.

    1. do reassessment; 2. while you are waiting, start to prepare for FE. I took FE 2 years ago - it is not hard, very basic questions.

Complete April 2019? Today is March 11, 2019. If APEGA refused your application, you still have chance to appeal (ask for reassessment). It is also possible that the admin staff forgot to update the date for the experience review. There are currently nothing you can do. Just wait and see.

No. They offered nothing and only said 9 more months experience needed in the letter. In your case, you have 10 years experience, I think you should be ok. Don't worry too much.

Sorry to hear that. Obviously you and I had the same experience examiner and board members... Will you submit reassessment or will you just wait for 12 more months?
