    Thread for December 2010 Applicants

I can tell you that they didn't ask any of the questions from the lists that are going around this website! I lived in Romania with my husband, and maybe that's the difference. They didn't ask from the inland lists, or the outland lists...my husband was asked how we met, if it was something...

    Driver's Licence in Nova Scotia

I was wondering if anyone who already landed in NS, or who has knowledge of this, could tell me if a driver's licence written in a different language needs to be translated in order to be accepted by the province. Is there any sort of proof that we need to bring with us showing years experience...

Hello Everyone, Just wanted to let you know that we have received our visa. It was issued May 20th, and we received it May 25th. The embassy here in Bucharest is very organized and efficient! They even keep their Ecas up to date!

    Time line for Bucharest 2011

Hello, My husband and I are going through the process in Bucharest. How far along are you in the process? Have you sent away your application yet? We sent our papers to Mississauga December 20th and they received them December 31st. We got a letter dated Feb. 8th from the embassy in Bucharest...

CHC Bucharest / Spouse Sponsorship Timeline 2009 -2010

Sunteti roman/romanca? Eu si sotul meu suntem in Romania. Noi am trimis dosarul nostru in Canada 20 decembrie, si ieri am avut in interviu. Ei ne-au spus ca vom avea un raspuns dupa o luna...nu stiu mai mult, dar pana acum a mers mai repede decat ce zice pe site-ul CIC (o luna pentru...

    Supporting Documents

They ask that you do not send calling cards anyways, but I suppose you could scan/take a picture of them showing that you have them.

final questions/clarifications before i send this application tomorrow!!

If you have an information guide for your region, take a look at it. We are from the Eastern Europe regional guide, and it asks only for her name, her date of birth, and the date the photo was taken, NOT her signature. So, you should be fine filling out the back of her immigrant photos yourself...

**OUTLAND Application - Living abroad QUESTION**

Glak1234, I think you misunderstand what others have been telling you...it is not necessarily a good thing to prove that you "live exclusively outside of Canada", neither is it a bad thing, but if you are able to say that you are just visiting it will be much better for you, because it's one...

    What happens after interview?

Which Visa Office was the interview at? Did she leave her passport with them? How is the postal service there? Maybe they want the medicals redone before issuing the visa...(which of course they should ask for, if that's what they want.)

    IMM 5481 Sponsorship Evaluation

I would put your net personal income from the last twelve months as they request. If it's not much, or less than it would normally be explain why.

    Application for Permanent Residence

Hello Habibti, I believe that sentence is saying that you have sent them everything that they required on the document checklist. It is said like that "minimum requirements", because after it is sent to the VO, they might ask you for more information then what was initially required.

thinking that our file is just lost!and wanna redo a new one

It almost sounds as though your application is being processed as inland instead of outland...although if that were the case it would be in Vegreville, and not Mississauga. Maybe you should order CAIPS notes and see what it says on them?

    Filling of Spousal Forms

So long as she fully understands what is in the documents that she is signing, and agrees to everything written there, I don't see that it would be a problem. By signing she is declaring everything in the forms to be true. About the texts and emails, they can be translated by anybody, because...

    Educational documents in Original????????

When looking at your region specific guide, you will notice that if they want original documents, they will ask for them. When they mentioned the educational documents, they do not say "Original". From my understanding you do not need originals of those. But, perhaps someone who actually went...

Canada req'd financial support minimums for visitors and PermRes Applicants?

I found something else that might be helpful. But as I understand it, this does not apply to your spouse and your dependent children. Here is the link where I got this info: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/5482E.PDF Table 1 — Low Income Cut-off (Effective until December 31...

Canada req'd financial support minimums for visitors and PermRes Applicants?

I remember seeing a table somewhere on the CIC website with dollar amounts, but right now I can't find it, and anyways, I'm pretty sure it did not apply to spousal sponsorship (including dependent children). I did find however on the OP2 this: "10.3. Sponsors who do not meet the income test...

    Interview Letters/CAIPS notes

Thank you very much for your answers. I was under the understanding that you have to pay, if the applicant is not in Canada, no matter who asks for the info. Noone has mentioned anything about calling the VO for answers. I guess this means that calling the VO would solve nothing?

    Interview Letters/CAIPS notes

I'm wondering how other interview letters have been worded. We have received a request for an interview in less than four weeks, and I don't think we will be able to get CAIPS notes in time, as it takes a week for any mail to get to Canada, and a week to return, plus the four week minimum, when...

UK Citizen applying for Canadian fiancee Visa

I forgot to add that a Canadian fiancee Visa does not exist. You would have to apply as common-law (if you've lived with them for a year, and can prove it), or get married and apply as a spouse.
