Same case here, background check not started, but got pre-arrival in July 2018. Medical passed August 2018. Few weeks AFTER pri-arrival letter, they asked additional documents, and now it says "document received" ..and background check still not started .

Oh no sorry to hear that! Just wanted to update, it's been about two weeks, and now they sent me medical request for all family members being sponsored along with additional document (information) request.

I did family Sponsorship from India in September 2017 and got Pre-Arrival email last week (July 25 2018), but did not do medical yet, and online says Background check have not started. What does all this mean? Did anyone else get pre-arrival e-mail WITHOUT doing medical yet? Thank you.
