To my knowledge, they don't notify you when it's ready and en route for delivery if you're expecting a mail service (it'll show up whenever it gets there)... If no one is home to accept it, they'll leave a notice for you to pick it up in person at the post office. If makes sense to be notified...

As stated above, you fill out a form and they reply to you. There's no option of asking a question in that format. If you have a question, you should call them and ask away and the number was mentioned in my earlier post. Here's the link for the status check...

You can check the status of your application online..and once you know they have opened your file, give them a call and point out the mistake. They will most likely go with the information on the citizenship certificate, as it's more of an official government document compared to a receipt. And...

If you're travelling outside of Canada , you can not enter the country with an expired PR card. You should renew it, to play it safe, if you don't think you'll be able to have your oath and apply for a Canadian passport prior to your trip. Otherwise, you're asking for trouble and complicating...

Maybe her parents didn't register her birth at the Canadian embassy/consulate in the country she was born... Had she ever had a Canadian passport?

Here's a probable better solution ... Call CIC and explain your situation to an agent and ask him/her to leave a note in your file for the officer responsible for processing it, that you're willing to go to Vancouver for a possible earlier oath rather than wait for a much later one on the island...

I am sure you return it to the same address you sent your application when you applied for it... I believe it's in Gatineau. A google search will get you the correct address.
