    April 2018 - Citizenship Applicant

As an aside. When I got my certificate there was no photo in it, just a see through document sleeve with the certificate and a letter from the Prime Minister. I think the only thing you have to worry about is keeping the certificate safe. When I went to the passport office, they stressed the...

    April 2018 - Citizenship Applicant

At the oath they said to wait for 3 full days but each person is different. If you check your ecas, once it changes to 'Complete' that means the system is updated and you can apply. Mine did take 3 days, I did my oath on a Wednesday and it changed on the Saturday. Some other people report that...

Returned application but can't find the reason...

Does the date on your physical presence calculator match the date on the application form? Both must be the same.

Many thanks! You shouldn't be waiting too much longer now yourself.

My wife phoned me today and said that my new passport arrived this morning in the mail so really pleased about that. I'm away in the truck in the US currently so won't be able to get my hands on it for another 3 or 4 days but I'll take great pleasure in handing in my US I94 visa waiver in my UK...

As others have said, its better and faster to print off the forms (you can fill most of it in on the computer) and go to your nearest passport office. Not only is it quicker, but they also validate your documents and give them back to you so there is no need to mail off your citizenship...

Not yet. But I only went to the passport office last Friday (25th) and they said it'd be about two weeks. I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival though. In many ways, having the passport in my hand will feel like the symbolic end of journey, rather than the oath and citizenship certificate.

    April 2018 - Citizenship Applicant

If it's still In Process after all this time, I'd guess that they're still doing more in depth background checks and are waiting for that, especially if they haven't communicated with you, asking for further information about anything. On some other threads on this forum, it has been suggested...

What does your ecas status show? In Process, or Decision Made?

Thanks again. It's good that you're DM, at least it means that everything is alright, they've accepted your application and you're just in line for a ceremony. I know the waiting can be hard, but there is no doubt that you'll get it now.

Thanks. I knew they say 3 days but was getting worried when the status didn't update to 'Complete'. Thankfully I checked just now and it has changed. Fingers crossed that you get an oath soon. Is your status 'Decision Made' or still 'In Process'?

Question about completing citizenship application regarding time spent outside Canada

Any day you spend any amount of time at all in Canada is a full day of physical presence. If you fly out of Canada at 6am on January 1st and fly back on January 10th at 11pm, both the 1st and 10th are full days of physical presence and the length of absence will be 8 days. Any trips where you...

    April 2018 - Citizenship Applicant

How long are those who've taken the oath usually waiting for their status to change from 'Decision Made' to 'Complete'? I had my oath on Wednesday and its currently still showing as 'Decision Made' over 48 hours later. I had booked time off on Monday to go down to the local passport office to...

    April 2018 - Citizenship Applicant

Many thanks. I too wasn't sure what to take so I took all original documents that they had copies of, my passport, copr, drivers licence, PR card and the print outs from the pdf attached to the oath Invitation email. All they actually wanted was the printed forms from the email, all filled in...

I had my oath ceremony today so I'm finally a Canadian citizen! It was a great upbeat ceremony, very enjoyable. I'd like to thank everyone else on here for their support and input in helping me and each other in the process and wish everyone else waiting the very best of luck and hopefully a...

    I sent webform !! and I get Email !!

If the OP is still waiting all this time, then IRCC are almost certainly doing more in depth checks or there is something not right with the application etc such incorrectly filled in physical presence or such like. I applied in April 2018. Did my test in Fredericton on November 21st, got DM...

Congratulations! You're almost there now. Hopefully it won't take long to get the oath invite. Mine came just over a month after my test and interview and my oath is this coming Wednesday.

Good luck for a prompt DM! I had assumed that everyone doing the test at the same time, did the same test so its interesting that you and your wife did different tests.

Yes, completely normal. Children stay "In Process" until the end. All you do now is wait for the oath. I know its hard to have patience when you have no idea how long the oath will be, but at least you can breath a sigh of relief that you application is done and is sitting in the queue for the oath.
